HYDROGEN ASSIST

Have you seen our vehicle driving in your area?
Our 1993 Suburban has
over 400,000 Klms. on it and we are reducing our fuel costs and
our footprint
on the environment by converting Water into Hydrogen Gas and Oxygen,
supplementing our fuel system as we drive.
This vehicle is 2 wheel drive, has a 5.7 litre gasoline engine with Air.

This GREEN Solution has so far reduced our CO2 Output (at Curb idle) by 22%
During the fall of 2007 I began to research Hydrogen production, Hydrogen use as a fuel, low voltage Hydrogen electrolysis and then built several prototypes. December 2007 I installed our first unit on our vehicle and began tracking the fuel consumption and emissions with the unit turned on and off.
December 28, 2007 I had an Ontario certified E Test on our
vehicle with the unit turned off
and our curb idle CO2
(Carbon Output) reading was .74
After running the vehicle on "Hydrogen
Assist" for 10 days, we went back to have the same service station
run the
test again and the curb idle CO2 readings had dropped to .58
How much CO2 is this reduction
really?
A Google search on the internet will find that....
"The typical
vehicle emits 19.4 pounds of CO2 per US gallon of gas consumed"
http://www.epa.gov/OMS/climate/420f05001.htm
Since building the Hydrogen Assist
unit we have purchased 4422.264 litres of fuel.
Which converts to 1,166.815
US gallons and would have produced 22,636.211 pounds of CO2
running just on gasoline.
So far, we have reduced this by
22% - Eliminating 4,979.967 pounds of CO2 from entering the environment.

"In City" driving mileage per litre
of fuel has increased by 25.3%
"Highway" driving mileage has increased by
22.4%
I've been tracking our mileage on every fill up and running with the system off for the entire tank or on for the entire tank (as an identical control, so the only difference in weight or effect is that the system is operating) and so far we are averaging the following:
|
City driving with the system off: |
we are averaging 4.4799 klms. per litre of fuel | |
| City driving with the system ON: | we are averaging 5.6141 klms. per litre of fuel | An INCREASE of 25.3% |
| Hwy driving with the system off: | we are averaging 6.2104 klms. per litre of fuel | |
| Hwy driving with the system ON: | we are averaging 7.6026 klms. per litre of fuel | An INCREASE of 22.4% |
How much difference is this
really?
Before we installed the Hydrogen Assist, an average
trip from London to downtown Toronto & back in our Suburban cost $80 in
regular gas. On April
13th 2008 with Hydrogen Assist,
we did the same trip to downtown Toronto and back for $60. We make this same
drive 2 to 4 times per week. Our average fuel cost is still working out to $60.
That's a savings of $20 in my pocket for each trip to
Toronto.

I will continue to track our mileage under all road conditions and situations
and update this page as the calculations change....

download an excel chart showing our detailed results so far.
We also have a FACEBOOK GROUP you can join about this project. Just search "Hydrogen Assist on my vehicle"

On average we are consuming about 1/2
- 3/4 of a litre of water per
week.
How much Hydrogen is
available in water?
Another Google search on the internet will find that....
"1
litre of water generates 2689.7 litres of non pressurized Hydrogen Gas"
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071101084216AAoMWaW
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since installation, this system has saved me $1,143.16 in fuel costs
(Dec. 28, 2007 -
Sept. 30, 2008)
As the cost of fuel increases during the year......we expect our savings to increase dramatically and to have saved well over $1200 by year end and reduced our Carbon Footprint by approx. 3 tonnes!
